3.What is the 6 Nations Tournament?

The current 6 Nations Championship is the result of a long historical rugby relationship starting in Britain.

The Five Nations Championship lasted from 1910 until 1931 when France were no longer allowed to play in the tournament due to accusations of professionalism within the French league teams, rugby in these days was strictly an amateur sport. As a result of this things went back as they were and the Home Nations Championships resumed through the period 1932 to 1939 when France were invited to rejoin to once again make it the 5 Nations Championship. Due to the war there was little rugby played until 1946 but the 5 Nations stayed in existence and was played yearly right up until the year 2000 when Italy were allowed to join making the competition what we call today the 6 Nations Championship.
